Happy Earth Day....

Happy Earth day… Let us give thanks by loving our planet.

I was wondering how to market and launch my new book of poetry for the Heart and Soul titled “Mystical Journey”. Since this is a book about the celebration of our earth and our place in it, what better day then to do it on Earth Day.

I wrote this book from a deeper place within me, my spirit and that is why on the book I wrote that it was written by miyspirit. Also, many of you have encouraged me in the last year to do a book with my quotes and stories. Well here it is finally after much of a leaning curve in the book making business. When I was inspired to make this book my goal was that I had hope this book would inspire others to reconnect with our earth and source. I even wrote on the last page…
I hope you have enjoyed this book, for I truly enjoyed making it.
If even, but one photo, quote or story share smiles or speaks to you in one way or another, then this book has served its purpose.

Last night I was inspired by a very gracious lady (Suzanne Williams from Ontario Canada) and her most encouraging dear words which truly left me speechless. Thank you Suzanne I am most touched and humbled by your testimonial. Suzanne you have no idea how overjoyed I was to hear that you have so enjoyed this book but most of all that it has spoken to your Soul, made it all worth it. I was not sure how people would react to it. I thought I would have to write the book of my whole life story before people could understand the conclusion of my so far passage on this earth.

Here is what Suzanne wrote …. "Well today is a special day my beautiful book arrived from Maddy, Mystical Journey, Photo Poetry for the Heart and Soul...and my oh my how very fortunate I am to have received this beautiful gift. From Maddy’s personal letter complete with soothing tea, to the very end of this book it was indeed a Mystical Journey...and has touched my heart. From the very first post that Maddy made on one of my photos, you just knew she was special, a kindred spirit, a gifted photographer, and a living sage...A Being who is here carrying the lamp for us to see by, a scribe writing the words we need to hear. A truly gifted and magical photographer. So that we may see. I have been so fortunate to have Maddy as a spirit in kind through the flickr network. Now I can actually touch and sense that spirit in this beautiful book. It is MAGNIFICENT. Thank you MaddyLane for sharing your spirit with me. A true gift to us...you are one of a Kind. I will treasure this book as I treasure our friendship... Humbly your friend Suzanne

I thank you with great Honor Suzanne, you have touched my Soul and inspired me tremendously in return, now I know how I will market this book. For its not easy to market ones own creations. It’s easier to get you all to go to my website because where I share and give you creative ideas for free. This book is different then what I normally do, its not a décor project, its me sharing from my Soul on a personal level which is not seen in a website. I hope my readers will buy this book, for it shows another side of me, of creation and how I get my inspirations in order to inspire others. It really is a feel good all over book.

I wrote Mystical Journey before I read the book “The Shack” by William Paul Young.
It is truly one of the best and most powerful books that I have ever read. It really explains it all…everyone should read this book!!! For we all have our caves and shacks in our lives in one way or another. When I read this book I realized that I was not crazy after all, it explain many things to me that I have come to realize within the last few years. Mystical journey is my trip at the Shack. When I kayak and admire the sunrise and sunsets I am truly with the presence of God the Source. When I’m making creations I truly feel Sarayu (the holy spirit) spirits, she is everything magical and whimsical, that is perhaps why I enjoy making things so much. Weather I’m in my work shop or going for long walks, I feel the presence of Jesus is there with me, we have long talks. Now that I have allowed myself to reconnect to the source and this magnificent trio, I enjoy their presences when I being present to their presence. Suzanne since I’m particularly found of you, I will post of picture of the Shack on my lake for you tomorrow.

Save the planet by healing your Soul first….and united we can heal the planet.
Where we all inspire each other in one way or another ;)
Enjoy this day!

I invite you to view inserts of "Mystical Journey"

O So Easy ~ No Sugar Apricot and Mango Spread

MIY Apricot and Mango Spread... (No Sugar)

People are always asking me why I’m so slim for my age….Hahahah..Well...
Here’s my secret, it's purely simple, I simply don’t eat sweets or junk food.... it's not
because I don’t like them, it's because they don’t agree with my body, so I listen to my body and I don't eat them. Paying attention to what you eat and how they react to your body is all part of a healthier you lifestyle.

I’m the type of cook that likes to cook with a bit of this and that. I keep cooking simple, except for Sunday family dinners. I like to cook with what I call “how did you make that" recipe? When I go to people house’s for dinner or parties, when I like something, I always ask how did you make that? That’s pretty much how I gather most of my recipes, by word of mouth (no need to write them down) and taste of course! As I make it, I usually add something else to it to make it a bit different....then they come to my house and say, hey "How did you make that?"

For those who don’t like or can’t eat sugar like diabetics; Here’s a super easy recipe to
make no sugar added apricot and mango spread. Even if you like sugar this recipe is so
easy you will want to try it, because it taste great. My kids love it (plus they don’t know
there’s no sugar). It’s perfect to make in the spring and winter time when fresh fruits are
not as abundant. It’s so easy you can make this spread almost anywhere anything,
from the cottage to even camping. You really can't go wrong with this super easy recipe.

To see how easy it is to make this spread...have look, visit and let me know what you think!!!!
This is something new that i'm doing on my site, is adding O so easy recipes, with step-by-step photo recipes...

Outdoor Tuscan Bud Vase Decor by Maddylane

Outdoor Tuscan Bud Vase Decor by Maddylane

Create original outdoor garden decor without spending very much!!!
Here's my secret:
The "as is" or discount section of home furnishing stores is a great place for unique finds that you can transform into something else. The basic cupboard door I used for this project is a good example. I filled the centre panel with granular paste, added small mosaic tiles, applied glaze for an Old World verdigris effect, and then secured a glass vase with wire. It is now an outdoor Tuscan-style bud vase wall hanging.

Making Gourd-geous birdhouses...

Would you like to enjoy the enchantment of birds in your backyard?
Then why not make them a gourd-geous birdhouse?
Working with hard-shell gourds is an ancient art that is becoming
increasingly popular as a contemporary art form. Since gourds come in many
different shapes and sizes, they can be used to make numerous decorative
artifacts. Unlike the small, thin-skinned decorative gourds, hard-shell ones -
once dried - harden and last forever. This is a perfect project to do with the
kids. Half the fun is the trip to the country market to find that perfect gourd.

Elegant Easter Eggs.... by Maddylane

Announce the arrival of spring with elegant feathered-looking Easter eggs. You will
treasure these multi-coloured decorations for years to come.

These colourful beauties are so easy to make, you can even make them this weekend, to keep the kids busy while you take care of other Easter preparations.

You can create simple and yet so elegant displays
for the mantel or as a centerpiece. Add a few
feathers for extra style and you can display these
spring beauties all spring long.

I just love eggs, they are the ultimate symbol of creativity. My love for eggs began early, for when I was a young girl we had a farm with chickens and horses. My job was to take care of the chickens. Up at 5 am to feed them and to collect the eggs, (that explains why I still like to get up so early, but now its to take pictures. To pick up those just laid warm eggs, everyday was an egg hunt. I’ll never forget that feeling. Today I honor eggs, I even incorporate eggs in my everyday décor. I have a special collection.

I just posted and Elegant Easter Egg project that is so easy to do, it will keep the kids busy in the kitchen while you can take care of all the weekend preparations; Kids are visual, you just have to show them how to do one and they will catch on… I say this from years of making Easter eggs with kids. Enjoy!

All the best for Easter, wishing you a very Happy Easter Weekend.

Chalkboard Art Decor Project by miycreations

Chalkboard Art Project

Chalkboard Art Decor Project : Chalk it up!!!!
Give the family a creative outlet. New artwork can be created daily.
Family and guests will want to fill the board with their creativity.
Having an chalkboard art canvas in a central part of your home such as
your kitchen or hallways makes it very convenient and accessible to the
whole family. It's Perfect to write down notes, grocery lists, and those
Spring to-do chore lists!!!!!

Chalk paints are easy-to-apply; they create a tough, slate-like chalkboard surface on wood, metal, plaster, plastic, or glass. So why not use it art canvases? They are fast drying, low gloss, durable, and washable. It goes on easy and levels out by itself for a smooth finish without runs. Chalkboard paint is so versatile, especially in the new delicious colours by Pebeo. It can be used on practically any surface from walls to floors. Flat surfaces such as tabletops are ideal surfaces for children’s artwork, keeping notes or playing a game. I just love this new format, because it non-toxic, water based and is applied with a paintbrush! Super easy, dries fast too! To view the full MIY Chalkboard Art project visit miycreations

Egg-tra ~ Egg-tra...Read all about it. Super Easy Egg-extravaganza

Super Easy Egg-extravaganza.....

In our home, every year we make a new style and type of Easter Eggs creation. We have an ongoing collection which is part of our tradition. These colourful cool eggs where made by my two boys (one is in university and the other in elementary
school.) I say this because one is never to old to make Easter Eggs. This is a super easy Easter project. My oldest son made graffiti designs and tags on his Easter eggs, even one with
for his girlfriend with her name on it. My youngest son made Easter buddies he calls them, one for each member of the family, and simple geometric shapes on other eggs..... Eggcellent ;)

Miy Kids Spring Break Creations

Need a creative project to keep the children entertained during the school break! Creativity doesn't have to cost a lot of money, simply a little imagination.
Perhaps your child has a passion for cars, boats, motor cycles, army soldiers. Have them make a large floor base model for whatever they are into. It will keep them creative and once complete is sure to garentie hours of play and fun. Have a look at the step-by-step make-it-yourself video's.Since this model plan was done on an old frame, when not in use we
hang it up s art on the wall in his bedroom, now how cool is that!
They can then play in their little world of imagination for hours.
